S-22 Stormwater Chambers

Reinforced Composite Matters: S-22 Chamber
The S-22 is molded from a fiberglass reinforced thermosetting plastic, which gives these chamber greater durability than unreinforced HDPE and PP chambers. Besides adding strength and stiffness, S-22 composite chambers are also highly resistant to corrosion. When this chamber model is determined to be the best solution for a project’s stormwater management needs, the Xerxes experts provide a cost-effective, site-specific design that provides a long service life.
Designed to meet industry standards, they are evaluated and tested according to the methodology of ASTM F2418 and F2787.

Success Story
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
In climates where storms are infrequent – like Middle Eastern countries – rain hitting dry, hard earth can result in flash floods. This is why facilities like the Dubai World Trade Centre are installing underground stormwater management systems. A recent expansion of the Trade Center’s Exhibition Centre required a robust infiltration system to manage stormwater runoff.
Designed to handle large storm events, the system is comprised of several thousand fiberglass-reinforced plastic S-22 chambers that provides close to 14,000 cubic meters of storage. These chambers are higher strength and more durable than traditional attenuation systems, which results in a reliable long-life system.
