Fuel Tanks
Going with Fiberglass for Long-Term Reliability
Fiberglass has the edge over steel for secure underground storage. Fiberglass fuel tanks made of premium resin and glass-fiber reinforcement do not need added linings, coatings, jackets or cathodic protection to guard against corrosion from stored fuels or surrounding soil. Xerxes double-wall tanks are compatible with all fuel products, and are not vulnerable to the problems metallic tanks have when storing corrosive ethanol-blended fuels, biodiesel fuels and ultra-low sulfur diesel.

Why choose a Xerxes fuel tank?
- UL-listed for bi-national ANSI/CAN/UL/ULC 1316:2018 standard
- Complete range of accessories
- Designed to withstand surface H-20 and HS-20 axle loads
- Lightweight tanks are easy to ship and install
- 30-year limited warranty
Save space and money with a multicompartment fuel tank
A multicompartment tank is the most space-efficient way to store multiple fuel types and grades. Besides space, using one multicompartment tank rather than several smaller tanks needed to store the same fuels can also reduce:
- transportation costs
- installation time and labor
- insurance costs
- site-permitting costs
Unlike steel tanks, which require an expensive upgrade to a double-wall bulkhead, the Xerxes multicompartment tank comes standard with a double-wall fiberglass bulkhead.
Tank materials and geometry create structural strength
- Premium resin and glass-fiber reinforcement provide internal and external corrosion resistance
- Cylindrical tank with rounded end caps is designed to withstand the stresses of underground storage.
- Integrally manufactured fiberglass ribs function like I-beams that enhance tank strength.
- Our patented 3D Parabeam® glass fabric bonds tank walls together for added strength.
- Tank is designed to withstand H-20/HS-20 axle loads.
Fuel Tanks Success Stories
Hospital - Texas, US
Operating nonstop with Xerxes fuel tanks
Even the most challenging installation site presents no problem for Xerxes tanks. That can mean a remote location with narrow roads or a metropolitan area with busy traffic and a tight footprint for the underground installation. Thanks to careful planning – and a police escort – two 12-foot-diameter fuel tanks were safely delivered early one weekend morning to Houston Memorial Hospital.
The corrosion-resistant double-wall fuel tanks, each with the capacity to store 40,000 gallons, means that the staff and patients of this busy urban hospital can depend on unbroken operation whenever the need arises.
Convenience Store - Georgia, US
Saving cost and space with fiberglass multicompartment tanks
When a national convenience store planned an upgrade to an existing store in Georgia, they decided to transition from steel fuel storage tanks to fiberglass tanks. The motivation was to choose the best underground tank technology to meet the growing demand for new fuels. Like many fuel markets, the c-store chain knew that a multicompartment tank was also the best option for cost-effective, space-saving installation. Two Xerxes double-wall multicompartment tanks allowed them to store several fuel types and grades: regular unleaded, premium unleaded, mid-grade unleaded, no-ethanol unleaded, E-85 and diesel.
