Creating Robust Stormwater Systems with Reinforced Composites

Superior to aboveground detention and retention ponds, expertly engineered, high-strength composite chambers are the preferred means of managing stormwater. A rural or urban setting? Extreme weather events or flash floods? Reinforced composite chambers are the ideal solution to handle any volume of runoff – and keep polluted runoff from endangering groundwater and water sources.

² Minimum cover of the Aquamod can be reduced to 12 in (0.3 m) for some installations. Contact Xerxes for details.
³ Maximum cover of Aquamod varies with the number of layers. The maximum module base of the bottom layer to grade is stated in table.

Stormwater Chamber Success Story

Eastern Tennessee

As the price of land continues to increase, businesses like national convenience store chains increasingly utilize the footprint under their parking area for stormwater management systems. This approach saves space aboveground for other uses while providing a cost-effective, long-term system.

For years, Xerxes fiberglass tanks, backed by a 30-year limited warranty, have been the tank of choice for fuel storage at North America’s major c-store chains. Today more and more of those same chains are choosing HydroChain fiber-reinforced composite stormwater chambers or crates, with a service life of 50+ years.

This new c-store, located off a busy interstate exchange in eastern Tennessee, used nine Xerxes double-wall tanks to securely store fuel products, and over 700 HydroChain S-29B chambers to store nearly 36,000 cubic feet of stormwater.
